Thursday morning’s heavy rain has been causing many crashes in the Bangor area.

The Maine State Police warned that driving conditions are challenging because of the rain, leading to several crashes, none of which caused any injuries.

Drivers should slow down, leave more space between them and other vehicles and use caution when approaching standing water.

“Heavy rain can reduce visibility and increase the risk of hydroplaning. Please use caution and give yourself extra time if you’re traveling this morning,” the state police said.
