For the past six years, I’ve watched Amy Roeder represent Bangor with distinction in the Maine House of Representatives. She hit the ground running in her first term and hasn’t slowed down since — sponsoring legislation that guarantees workers receive their earned vacation pay at the end of employment. In the years since, she has led on dozens of issues that matter to working families.
A member of three unions herself, Roeder is laser-focused on fair wages, safe workplaces, and worker dignity. She holds a 100 percent pro-labor score on the Maine AFL-CIO’s Working Families Legislative Scorecard and has consistently stood up for collective bargaining rights and retirement security. She championed extending Maine’s minimum wage protections to farmworkers, fought for — and won — better wages for construction workers, and secured funding for pre-apprenticeship programs to help more people get into the trades.
I’m proud to support Amy Roeder for Maine state Senate. She grew up in the labor movement, and she has proven, time and again, that she will always have our backs.
