BRISTOL — Local artists and nature enthusiasts are invited to gather for an informal morning of plein air sketching and painting at Hatchtown Preserve in Bristol from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21.
Led by local artists Erica Qualey and Joy Vaughan, the event offers community members an opportunity to explore the preserve’s scenic trails and capture the natural landscape on canvas or paper. The group will meet at the preserve’s parking lot at 9 a.m. before walking along the wooded trails to find inspiring spots to paint and draw.
While there will be no formal instruction, participants of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to ask questions, share artistic techniques and enjoy socializing with fellow creators.
This outing is the last in a four-part summer series hosted by Coastal Rivers.

Qualey and Vaughan are South Bristol artists and teachers who draw inspiration from nature and enjoy meeting with other artists.
