An actor died on stage Wednesday night during a play dress rehearsal in Madison.
Randy Jones, the lead in Lakewood Theater’s production of “The Village Idiot,” suffered a heart attack and collapsed on stage, the theater company announced Thursday.
“He unfortunately did not survive and passed away peacefully in full costume, center stage doing what he loved with people that loved him,” Lakewood Theater said.
Out of respect for Jones, Lakewood Theater has canceled the production and said more information will be released later.
“The world has lost a great man. A really great man,” Lakewood Theater said.
