The Bangor Daily News and Patten Free Library in Bath will co-host an event this month for area residents to meet with BDN staff and talk about local news stories and the BDN’s coverage of the state’s midcoast.
The BDN is partnering with libraries around the state to host meetups with BDN reporters and editors, and answer your tech support and subscription questions. Meetups are a chance to get to know BDN journalists, share issues and ideas on your mind, learn about how BDN journalists do their jobs, and get help with your subscription if you need it. No need to register, just come as you are.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in the community room of the library at 33 Summer St.
BDN newsroom staffers attending the event will include Michael Shepherd, politics and investigations editor; Callie Ferguson, deputy investigative editor; Paul Koenig, chief digital editor; and Jo Easton, director of journalism sustainability and partnerships.
The BDN hopes to hear from attendees about what sort of specific or general information area residents want from their local news sources.
Attendees can also bring their digital devices if they have questions about accessing the Bangor Daily News online, either with their phones, tablets or laptops.
There is not a formal agenda for the event, which is expected to last roughly 90 minutes. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
