Only five homes in Bangor changed hands during the week of Aug. 9, the most expensive of which topped out at $665,000.
Two of the residential properties transferred for $0 while the others in Bangor’s Fairmount and Tree Streets neighborhoods sold for $250,000 and $345,000, respectively.
A mere handful of Bangor homes selling in a week follows a statewide decline in property sales in August. That’s a stark difference from the dozen or more residential properties in the city that sold each week earlier in the summer.
However, Maine real estate agents expect the market will become more active in September and October before winter arrives, and the state’s housing inventory has risen to give hopeful buyers more options.
We built a list of all the residential property sales that occurred in Bangor from Aug. 9 to 15 using data from state transfer tax documents, which are available to the public online.
