My state senator is Mike Tipping, who represents central and northern Penobscot County. He is serving a second term and is asking voters for a third.
Based on his introduced legislative bills and committee work, I’ll absolutely be voting for him. Mike also serves as head of the Labor Committee and serves on Taxation and Government Oversight, some very important assignments at this particular moment.
Mike is a work horse as a senator and has introduced bills that impact real voters in central Maine. Some of the bills he introduced illustrate his priorities, including bills to ban Maine utilities from spending ratepayer money on marketing, reduce Mainers’ medical debt, create a right to repair our own stuff, expand overtime protections for workers and lower property taxes for disabled veterans.
My favorite bill Mike introduced is to safeguard against federal cuts to universal school meals. It’s important to him that hunger is eliminated in schools while kids learn. Maine has promised that to school children, and he has shown he intends to keep that promise.
These laws are real solutions that have real impacts on real families. Check out his website for a comprehensive look at his work. I think you will agree a third term is needed for this senator.
