Students at the William S. Cohen School were briefly evacuated for a potential threat Wednesday morning, the district said. 

Students were moved to the Fruit Street School, according to a message sent to parents shortly after 11:30 a.m. They returned to the William S. Cohen School about an hour later. 

Bangor police searched the school “out of an abundance of caution” after the potential threat and nothing was found, spokesperson Jeremey Brock said.

Bangor schools are working with the police department to evaluate the potential threat and will release more information as soon as possible, spokesperson Ray Phinney said
