Four people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a collision in Hancock.

Nicholas McAfee, 36, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, was driving a Hyundai Sonata east on Route 1 about 2:27 p.m. when he rear-ended a Ford Bronco driven by 53-year-old Amy Houck of Steuben, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The collision caused the Bronco to roll over, while McAfee’s Sonata went off the road into a field, where it hit a tree, Moss said Wednesday morning.

A passenger in the Bronco, 66-year-old Cathy Grant of Milbridge, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the Sonata was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

McAfee and Houck suffered minor injuries in the crash, Moss said.

The crash remains under investigation.
