SOUTH THOMASTON, Maine — A South Thomaston man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly threatening three women with a gun.

Aiden J. Woodward, 23, was charged with one count of felony domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and two counts of felony criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Justice Sarah Gilbert set bail Wednesday at $2,000 cash for Woodward during his initial appearance in the state court in Knox County. Assistant District Attorney Christopher Fernald sought $2,500 in bail, while defense attorney for the day Gregory Snow requested $1,000 bail.

According to an affidavit filed in court by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, a woman said she and two other women went to a house in South Thomaston where Woodward was. When the women arrived, Woodward was outside by his truck, reached into the truck and pulled out a pistol, and racked the slide. He then pointed the gun at the women and at the car they came in. Inside the vehicle was an 18-month-old child.

A friend of Woodward came out of the house wielding a metal pipe. When the woman told Woodward her child was in the car, Woodward backed off and the women left, according to the affidavit.

They then went to Rockland and contacted police.

Woodward denied to police that he pulled back on the slide of the pistol and denied pointing it at anyone.
