The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday arrested two men from the town of LaGrange who were allegedly shooting guns illegally and recklessly.

Police were called to a report of guns being fired in LaGrange. In their investigation, deputies determined that the gunfire had crossed the roadway and struck a residence located across the street, the sheriff’s office said.

The two men suspected of doing the shooting are both convicted felons who were prohibited from possessing firearms, according to the sheriff’s office.

Guy Shurman, 37, and Daniel Turner, 44, both of LaGrange, were arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail. Both are charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
