Jackson: ‘We should have never had a list’

Collins said she has gotten Canadian concrete, road salt and pulp exempted from Trump’s tariffs. She said the pulp exemption matters for the Madawaska paper mill, which gets its pulp from across the St. John River. She is still pushing for relief for blueberry growers, potato farmers and the forest products industry.

Jackson said those wins don’t make up for a trade war Congress could have stopped.

“I’m not going to give Sen. Collins credit for taking getting some things off the list when we should have never had a list,” Jackson said.
