ROCKLAND, Maine — The Knox County courts will be transitioning to a new computer docketing system on Dec. 7, which will require a two-week closure for staff training and installation of the new equipment.

Knox County is one of the last courts in the state to undergo the transition.

The court will reopen at noon on Dec. 7. That week will be an administrative week in which the court is open to the public only from noon to 4 p.m.

Normal business hours will return Dec. 14.

The state courts in Waldo, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties also will transition to electronic filing on Dec. 7.

There will be Zoom training for attorneys on how to file paperwork prior to the transition.

The Maine Judicial Branch remains on track to have all courts on the new system by February 2027.

Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Valerie Stanfill noted in a news release: “We are pleased that the transition from paper filing to eFiling has proceeded so smoothly this year, a testament to the hard work and dedication of all Judicial Branch staff. The eCourts project implementation and project support teams have traveled all over the state to make the transition successful, and they certainly deserve special acknowledgement.”
