Power has been restored to thousands across Penobscot and Piscataquis counties Tuesday morning.

Nearly 19,000 customers lost power, according to Versant Power.

The outages were clustered predominately along the Penobscot River, affecting Lincoln, East Millinocket, Millinocket, Medway, Howland, Greenbush, Lee and Passadumkeag, among others.

Additional outages affected Piscataquis County around Milo and Brownville.

Emily Tadlock, a Versant Power spokesperson, said most customers had their power restored before 11 a.m.

A transmission line issue caused a majority of the outages, which last about half an hour, according to Versant Power.
