It’s been widely reported that Paul LePage claims a legal address in an apartment above a car rental agency in Augusta. But is that where he and his wife retire at the end of the day and greet the morning sun?
Furthermore, he states he’s a “snowbird” (BDN Oct. 17-18 edition), an admission I believe that he doesn’t value full-time Maine state residence. Second Congressional District voters deserve a candidate who actually lives with them in the district he hopes to represent. A suggestion that he might purchase a home in Aroostook County if he is elected also hints that he might hightail it back to Florida, as he has done before, if he is not elected.
So does he live with us or not? His commitment to us seems pretty thin.
It’s long past the time for him to speak the truth and answer the question directly: as a candidate, does he live in the Second Congressional District with the voters he hopes to represent? It’s a question that needs a definitive answer.
