Cooper Flagg set yet another record during Wednesday night’s season opener against the Houston Rockets.
The Dallas Mavericks star completed a fourth quarter jump shot to bring his total points scored to 32, the most any teen has scored during an NBA season opener.
The 19-year-old Newport phenom even outscored Kyrie Irving, who sat out last season because of a knee injury and had 15 points in his return.
Yet Flagg’s performance wasn’t enough to carry the Mavericks to victory. The Mavs lost 128-110.

But Flagg continues to demonstrate why he was a No. 1 draft pick ahead of his rookie season.
During his first season with the Mavericks, Flagg averaged 21 points per game, the most for any rookie; became the youngest player to score 50 points in a single NBA game; and is the second-youngest to score 1,000 points.
Flagg went on to become the second-youngest Rookie of the Year, behind only Lebron James.
