A fire truck unknown to any local departments has been spotted on roads near Lake Arrowhead with its lights and sirens activated, the Limerick Fire Department reported on social media.

“Please know this vehicle is not associated in any way with the Limerick Fire Department or any surrounding town,” the department said, adding that the truck is believed to be privately owned.

“No emergency response was occurring at the time this vehicle went through the area,” the department said.

Owning a fire truck privately in Maine is not illegal, but operating lights and sirens is limited to vehicles working in certain official capacities.
