If you live in Bangor and want to easily rid your lawn of leaves, you don’t have long to wait.

Bangor Public Works will begin curbside leaf pickup Monday and continue doing so through the end of November.

But you need to ensure your leaf piles are free of rocks, branches, yard waste and other debris that could damage the vacuum. Workers may not collect your leaves if they see any of that material in your piles.

Alternatively, you could leave the leaves to provide winter cover for insects but know, depending on where you dump your leaves, that could include disease-carrying ticks.
