A Saturday morning fire has taken out a building in Presque Isle.
The blaze started in the early morning at 172 Main St., according to city spokesperson Kim Smith.
The three-story building housed a business and apartments.
There are no known injuries or fatalities, and it is not yet clear how many people were displaced, Smith said Saturday.
The building is likely a total loss. State fire marshal investigators are on the scene, she said.
At about noon, smoke billowed around the structure as fire crews worked. A Red Cross van was nearby.
The roof was largely gone and firefighters trained water down on the remaining building.
Mutual aid came from Easton, Caribou, Mapleton and Fort Fairfield, Smith said.
