A Waterville man has been sentenced to time served for making threats against people he viewed as illegal immigrants through a YouTube account.

According to court records, on Feb. 8, 2024, Benjamin Brown, 47, posted comments on YouTube threatening to hunt down and kill undocumented immigrants.

Brown said in his comments that no one could stop him from killing illegal immigrants, not even law enforcement, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Brown pleaded guilty to making interstate threats on June 27, according to officials. He has been sentenced to time served, which equaled approximately six months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
