The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy on Wednesday issued a health and safety recall for adult-use flower and pre-rolled joints made by NorCO Outdoor Cannabis after they were found to have unsafe levels of mold, microbes and other toxic substances.

The affected cannabis products were sold at 22 adult-use retail stores in Maine from Oct. 15 to Dec. 2. Flowers included the strains “Frosted Enigma” and “Gold Dust,” and pre-rolls included “Blackberry Pie,” “Sour Cookies” and “Street Tartz.”

Retail stores identified in the state recall included, among others, two in Bangor, and one each in Northport, Rockland, Warren, Presque Isle and Southwest Harbor.

As part of an ongoing investigation related to the last NorCO product recall, the Maine OCP said it tested additional adult-use cannabis and cannabis products from the company. Those products are being recalled after test results showed varying unsafe levels of yeast and mold, microbials and arsenic, according to the agency.

Maine previously issued two recalls for NorCo Outdoor Cannabis vape cartridges in October and November.

People who bought the affected products should return them to the retailer or dispose of them, the agency advised.

Anyone who has ingested them and is experiencing symptoms or adverse reactions should contact a health care provider immediately, or call 911 in the case of a medical emergency.
