I will rank Troy Jackson number on the Democratic primary ballot for governor. He, Shenna Bellows and Hannah Pingree are all capable candidates who would make superb governors and each has years of experience in the Maine state Legislature.
I choose Troy Jackson because he has proven to me that he is fierce, knowledgeable and determined to represent the needs of the working class in Maine. He grew up poor, lived with no heat or running water, and he never forgets. He rose to Senate president and knew how to work with both sides in order to advance his convictions. He has had run ins with Gov. Janet Mills but I think he always has his eyes on passing the needed legislation.
I have often have wondered who in our state Legislature knows what it is like to live week to week, fearing a broken car or the inability to get child care or unable to afford the doctor for your child.
Troy knows. He doesn’t forget. And I have another criteria. Who can win the statewide election? I think Troy has the best shot.
I ask that you research the backgrounds of Troy, Shenna and Hannah, and if you do, I think there’s a good chance you’ll agree with me. Be sure to vote.
