The fire at the Orrington trash plant was put out about 17 hours after it started. 

The blaze erupted Tuesday night at the Eagle Point Energy Center in Orrington. Black smoke was still visible on Wednesday morning. 

The fire was under control around noon with some spots left, Orrington Fire Chief Scott Stewart told WABI

No fire trucks were visible at the scene as of 4 p.m. Wednesday and there was no smoke.

The fire left char marks and burnt holes throughout parts of the facility, a Bangor Daily News reporter saw.
