I guess I should not be surprised by the article headline on page 2 of the June 12 edition of the Bangor Daily News. I believe it was disingenuous.
The headline was “Platner takes The County by storm.” The article uses two towns as examples of 100% support for Platner: Orient, which had 13 votes cast for Platner, which were 12% of the town’s registered voters, and Westmanland which had 2 votes for Platner, which were 2.6% of the town’s total registered voters.
That is hardly taking The County by storm and I think it was definitely not independent of political bias. It is no wonder to me that the BDN has to try to convince readers of their journalistic credentials in the “What our journalism stands for” section in the daily editions.
