ROCKLAND, Maine&nbsp- A vehicle stolen from a Waldo Avenue driveway sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning remained missing Monday.

Stephen W. Reynolds, 53, of 84 Waldo Ave. reported that his maroon 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was stolen out of his driveway, according to the Rockland Police Department.

Reynolds told police he last saw his car in his driveway at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and noticed it was missing just before calling in a complaint at 8:49 a.m. Sunday.

The Blazer information was placed with the National Crime Information Center, said Deputy Chief Wallace Tower of the Rockland Police Department.

“That means if the car shows up anywhere in the nation, it will show up as a stolen vehicle,” said Tower.

The keys had been left in the vehicle and it was unlocked. Tower wanted to remind residents that keys should be removed from vehicles, and that vehicles should be locked.

“All of the vehicles stolen from the city in the last 10 years have had the keys in them,” he said. “No vehicles were stolen in which the keys were removed and the vehicles were locked.”

Rockland police Officer Anthony Campiorale investigated the incident and checked some of the local streets for the missing vehicle, but had no success.
