HARMONY – Ernest C. Brown, 90, died Aug. 19, 2008, at a Bingham nursing home. He was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Garland, son of Ross and Olive (Coffin) Brown. Ernest served in the U.S. Army, and then worked at the local textile mills, and as a woodsman and farmer. He enjoyed woodcrafts and loved his garden, which was enjoyed by all the family. He is survived by three sons, Charles Bagley and friend, Sylvia Curtis, Ralph Bagley and his wife, Linda, all of Harmony and George Bagley and his wife, Sharon, of Wellington; five daughters, Elaine Bussell and her husband, Homer, Marilyn Dillingham and Hal Currier, all of Parkman, Ethel Pike, Pluma Pike and her husband, Clair, all of Wellington and Evelyn Nichols of Connecticut; 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Myra (Getchell) Brown; a son, Earl Brown; and a sister, Doris Cross. Friends may call 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastors Donald Booker and Levi Pratt officiating. Burial will be at Gray Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft.
