LEVANT and OLD TOWN Doris King, 80, passed away Aug. 16, 2008, at her home in Old Town. She was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Levant, the daughter of Donald and Laura Verrill. She enjoyed spending time traveling, gardening, being with family and friends, and especially cooking. Doris lived in many places across the world, but settled into the Old Town area, working for Kagan-Lown and as a certified nurse’s aide at Orono Commons. Her daughter, Pamela and husband, Arnold, survive her, along with her grandchildren, Kelly, Cody, Rebekah, David and Brandy. She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Verrill and Frances Thayer; brothers, William and Merle Verrill; many nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Laura Verrill; her son, Warren King; and sisters, Marion Verrill and Joyce Anderson. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Gracelawn Cemetery, Auburn.
