ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla., and ISLAND FALLS – Myrna E. Sleeper, 93, was called home by her Lord Thursday, July 31, 2008, due to a short illness. Myrna was born in Crystal, the seventh child to Adam Hatto and Henrietta Noyes. She loved her summers spent in the area of her birth and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling in her retirement years. Myrna was a people person, who liked Will Rogers and “Never met a person she did not like.” Myrna was predeceased by one son, Donald F. Gerow Jr.; her first husband and father of her children, Donald F. Gerow Sr.; her second husband, True Sleeper; and one great-grandson, Jason Dore, who lost his life in Iraq, while serving his country. She is survived by a brother, Clark Hatto and his wife, May, of Cherryfield; son, Wallace A. Gerow and his wife, Margaret; daughter, Nancy A. and her husband, William Moody; and daughters-in-law, Nancy Williams and husband, Lyall, Lillian Gerow and Ernestine Seaward. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A Mass will be held 1 p.m. Aug. 23 at St. Agnes Catholic Parish, Island Falls, with graveside committal at the Catholic cemetery directly after the Mass. There will be a luncheon at the church hall after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Myrna’s memory may be made to St. Agnes Parish, 112 Military St., Houlton, ME 04730.
