GRACE (FERNALD) KINGSBURY CORINTH – Grace I. Kingsbury, 92, the wife of the late Willard Kingsbury, died unexpectedly Aug. 25, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Nov. 12, 1915, in Garland, the daughter of Harold and Zelinda (Hill) Fernald. Grace was a longtime resident here and was well known for her beautiful gardens, where she raised thousands of glads for many years. She had been an employee in area shoe shops for several years and was very active in Garland Grange, serving as secretary for 40 years, and as master, lecturer and chaplain. She was also a member and active in Mystic Tie Grange of Kenduskeag, where she served as master and lecturer, and was also a member of Pomona, State and National Granges. Surviving are her stepchildren, Dorothy Wright of Corinth, Alice Kingsbury of Bangor, Willard Kingsbury of California and Esther Grant of Corinth; her favorite grandson, John W. Wright and his fiancee, Michele Howell, both of Corinth; two very close friends, Catherine Spaulding of Kenduskeag and Donna Morison of Corinth; many stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. David Bean officiating. Burial will be at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth.
