RONALD M. LANCASTER DEXTER and DURANGO, Mexico – Ronald M. Lancaster died Aug. 11, 2008, in El Paso, Texas. He was born March 7, 1935, in Dexter, the son of the late Harold (Dutch) and Gwendolyn (Russell) Lancaster. Upon graduation from Dexter High School, Class of 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Upon discharge, he attended Nichols Junior College and the University of Mexico, Mexico City. For several years he worked as an insurance adjuster in the Bangor area and earned a license as a chiropractor. He reentered the military, serving in the Air Force and eventually transferred to the Army, from which he retired. He took up residence in Durango, Mexico, where he became active in farming, retailing and restaurant businesses. Ron is survived by his wife, Manuella; a daughter, Lisa Lancaster of Hallowell; his sister, Beverly Goldstone of Dexter; and a granddaughter, Rhiannon Viegue of Hallowell, the mother of his great-grandson, David.
