BROWNVILLE – Edward D. Taylor, 79, husband of Jeanette (Hill) Taylor, died Aug. 29, 2008, at his home. He was born June 29, 1929, in Bangor, the son of Edward F. and Alice (Sabine) Taylor. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Taylor had worked at Striar Textile, Orono, for many years. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors. He had a green thumb and was very proud of his gardens, and he always enjoyed going for rides. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanette of Brownville; a son, Edward D. Taylor and his wife, Terri, of Kenduskeag; two daughters, Katherine Thomas and her husband, Greg, of Brownville and Janet Clark and her husband, Alan, of Texas; four brothers, Lawrence, James, Roger and David, all of Kenduskeag; two special sisters-in-law, Dolly Huhn and her husband, Ed, of Aurora, Ill., and Marion Taylor of Eddington; five grandchildren, Kevin and Eric of Dover-Foxcroft, Sara of LaGrange, Steven and Jason of Brownville; and five great-grandchildren. Ed will be remembered by special friends, Nelson Query of Bangor and Ernest Strout of Old Town. He also enjoyed visits from the members of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness of Milo, including Mark of Florida, Murray Mayo of Milo, Craig and Darlene Andrews of Sebec, Charles and Judy Hall of Brownville; and a special person, Gertrude. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenny, Thomas, Fred and Charles; and by his sister, Alice. Friends are invited to call 4-6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. At Ed’s request, a graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Pinetree Cemetery, Brownville Junction.
