LINCOLN – Josephine (Rosi) Butterfield, 84, wife of the late Galen Butterfield, passed away Aug. 30, 2008, at her home. She was born May 23, 1924, in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of Alfred and Amelia (Romanogli) Rosi. Josephine met her husband while he was in the service in Massachusetts during World War II. They moved to Lincoln and after the war, raised their family there. She worked as a bookkeeper for Lincoln Water District for 28 years. She is survived by her son, Gerald Butterfield and his wife, Ellen; four grandchildren, Debra Butterfield, Michael Butterfield, Jennifer McInnis and Jo Elaine Dolley; six great-grandchildren, Rylee and Carter McInnis, Caeden and Nova Dolley, and Laura and Lillian Butterfield; special nephews, Ronald and wife, Marie Rosi, and Alfred and wife, Patricia Rosi, all of Saugus, Mass.; as well as several other nieces and nephews, and her card playing friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Jane King; her parents and four brothers. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev.
