MILLINOCKET – Norman J. Pelletier, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Wynadotte, Mich., son of Clarence and Victoria (Dubie) Pelletier. Norman was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Great Northern Paper Co., in Millinocket, for many years. Norman loved to joke and laugh, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his son, Terry Pelletier and his wife, Jeri, of Millinocket; five grandchildren, Sherri Barker of East Millinocket, Jeffrey Gordon and his fiancee, Ryann Martin, of Millinocket, Timothy Leet Jr. of East Millinocket, Laurie Chamberlain and her husband, Greg, of Hampden and Kevin Leet and his fiancee, Nikki, of East Millinocket; siblings, Sylvia Gasiewski of Wynadotte, Mich., Milford Pelkey, Theresa Soucy, Nelson and Beverly Pelkey, Roger Pelkey, Mildred and Robert Childs, and Melvin Pelkey, all of Lincoln, Raymond and Shirley Pelkey, Dean Pelkey of Woodville, Donald Pelkey of Medway, Marlene Gilbert of Lewiston, and Carolyn and James Dunn of Plantsville, Conn.; a son-in-law, Timothy Leet Sr. of East Millinocket; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Katherine Leet, July 5, 2008; and two sisters, Lorena Santerre and Jeanette Pelkey. Graveside services with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Millinocket Cemetery. A luncheon will be held after the service at Fellowship Hall of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, where Norman’s life will be celebrated.
