CORINNA – Beverly Joanne Johndro “Nana Jo,” 75, passed late evening Aug. 30, 2008, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Beverly was born Oct. 25, 1932, in Corinna, the daughter of Fred and Ruth (Edgerly) Leavitt. She was a longtime resident of Corinna, where she attended school and worked. Beverly married Percy Joseph Johndro, Jan. 6, 1951. She worked at T & K Store, the Snowflake Canning Co., 35 years at Eastland Woolen Mill, also 12 years at Newport McDonald’s. Her favorite passions were dancing, walking and playing Phase 10 with Jay and others; also reading, cooking for and spending time with her extended beloved family. She is survived by her special companion of 14 years, Jay Clukey; five children, Edmund and wife, Vernelia (Glidden), of Exeter, Linda and hus- band, Douglas Mayhew, and Judy Varney of Corinna, Delores and husband, Andy Clukey, of Garland, and Percy and wife, Patty (Haverly), of Newport; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who especially lit up her life; her brother, Stanley; and four sisters, Lucille, Joyce, Barbara and Mary Kay. She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, her parents; three sisters, Arline, Libby and Rita; and a special grandson, Dougie Mayhew. A special thanks to Dr. Openshaw at Cancer Care of Maine and Dr. Baker and their staffs. Beverly chose not to have any viewing or funeral.
