CHARLES B. ANTWORTH JR. BANCROFT – Charles B. Antworth Jr., 87, passed away Sept. 7, 2008, at a Houlton hospital. He was born June 15, 1921, in Stockholm, the son of Charles and Jennie (Burns) Antworth. He attended schools in Houlton, graduated from Houlton High School and attended Ricker College. He was a member of St. Ann’s Church, Danforth and the American Legion, Danforth. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Egypt, Iran and French West Africa. He was employed with the U.S. Government until his retirement with 30-years service, at which time he returned to Bancroft. His survivors include several cousins. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth, during which time the rosary will be said. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Danforth, with the Rev. Roger Cyr presiding. Interment will be at Danforth Cemetery at a later date.
