A Stockton Springs woman was slightly injured Friday evening when her car rammed into the front of a restaurant in town.

Dorothy Gergely, 82, apparently was backing out of a parking spot near Just Barb’s restaurant on Main Street when she noticed another car backing up. Gergely stopped and put her car in drive, but her foot may have slipped off the brake and hit the gas, said Officer Darrin Moody of the Stockton Springs Police Department.

Gergely’s car struck the front left corner of the restaurant, causing an estimated $800 damage to the building, Moody said. Damage to the car was estimated at $6,000.

Gergely was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. No one in the restaurant was injured, Moody said.
