ASHLAND – Dana W. Sylvester, 69, died unexpectedly Sept. 18, 2008, in Boston. He was born April 28, 1939, in Houlton, son of Woodford and Climena (Mosher) Sylvester. He was a graduate of Ashland High School and attended the University of Maine, Orono. Dana was an Army veteran, serving from September 1960 to September 1963. He was employed as a farm equipment salesman for many years. He was a member of Pioneer Masonic Lodge AF & AM of Ashland and Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor. He enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending his summers at Portage Lake. Dana is survived by his daughter, Penny Buck and her husband, Dana, of Presque Isle; their children, Krista Buck and Leigh Buck of Presque Isle; Penny’s mother, Mary Jane (Frost) Sylvester of New Jersey; his special friend of many years, Simone Carter of Rhode Island; and a nephew, Morgan Mosher and his wife, Martha, of Scarborough. Relatives and friends may call 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A graveside committal service will be held 4 p.m. Monday at Ashland Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating.
