MADAWASKA – Henry Myers, 87, died Sept. 18, 2008, at a Frenchville nursing home. He was born Jan. 12, 1921, in St. Quentin, New Brunswick, the son of Percy and Anna (Theriault) Myers. He was a World War II Canadian Army veteran, having served as a drill sergeant from 1939 to 1945. After a medical discharge, he continued to be very dedicated to military-related community work. Henry was also employee at Fraser Paper for 34 years. He is survived by three sons, Clayton Myers and his wife, Hilda, of Madawaska, Percy Myers of Edmundston, New Brunswick and Mike Myers and his wife, Rachel, of Bristol, Conn.; one daughter, Jocelyn Thibeault and her husband, Raymond, of Bristol, Conn.; two brothers, Lawrence Myers of Madawaska and Lewis Myers of Broadbrook, Conn.; two sisters, Alma Villeneuve of St. Foy, Quebec, and Kathleen Violette of Madawaska; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Henry is also survived by his companion, Marie Chamberland of Edmundston, New Brunswick. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas Church, Madawaska. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
