DEXTER and SANGERVILLE – Marguerite L. Carr, 83, died Sept. 17, 2008, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born June 11, 1925, in Parkman, daughter of William and Flora (Clement) Elderkin. She served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II, and was a member of Stott Flanders American Legion Post, Sangerville. She worked for many years at Eastland Woolen Mill, Corinna, and wrote the local North Dexter news for the Eastern Gazette. She enjoyed fishing and hunting, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Roderick Carr and his wife, Sharon, of Lincoln; two grandsons, James Carr and his wife, Mary, and Christopher Carr and his wife, Michelle, and their children, Mikayla and Christa, all of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Carr; and two brothers, Maynard and Harvey Elderkin. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Pingree Center Cemetery, Parkman, with Pastor Kevin Stevens officiating.
