BEALS – Abegail Augusta Beal, 86, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at Sunrise Nursing Home, Jonesport. She was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Jonesport, the daughter of the late Levi and Margaret (Crabtree) Wallace. Gusty worked for many years in the sardine and clam factories. She was administrator of the Beals Ambulance Service and worked for the former Resthaven Nursing Home, until her retirement. She was a member of the Beals Historical Society and enjoyed going to yard sales in the summer. Family members include son, Isaac K. Beal and his wife, Eva, of Beals; a daughter, Gracie Beal Emerson of Addison; a son, Spencer Beal and Maria Golding of Cherryfield; 10 grandchildren, Wyatt Beal, Timothy Beal, Christopher Beal, Heidi Brague, Kelley Allen, Sally Pierce, Richard Bassett Jr., Clark Butler, Mandy Kane, Derrick Lapointe; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Lena Wall; two sisters-in-law, Betty and Mary Wallace; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special granddaughter-in-law, Virginia Butler; and granddaughter, Sally Pierce, who helped care for her during her illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Mariner “Lovie” Beal in 1981. She was also predeceased by a sister, Julia Ray; brothers, Jim, Albert, Lester “Mickey” and Samuel Wallace; a special sister-in-law, Della Bernice Beal, who she cared for until her death in 1986. Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Community of Christ, Beals, with Pastor George Woodward, officiating. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Community of Christ, Beals. Burial will be in the Captain John A. Beal Family Cemetery, Beals.
