VAN BUREN – Abel Dumais, 90, died March 13, 2004, at a Van Buren nursing home after a lingering illness. He was born May 17, 1913, in Fort Kent, the son of Willie and Alice (Madore) Dumais. He was employed as a truck driver and carpenter for most of his working life. Abel is survived by two sons, Ralph Dumais and his wife, Bea, of Van Buren, Rudy V. Dumais and his wife, Elaine, of Cape Coral, Fla.; one brother, Armand Dumais of Madawaska; one sister, Verna Poisson of Tennessee; four grandchildren, Susan Fitzpatrick, Linda Dumais, Megan Dumais, and Karrah Dumais; two great-granddaughters, Allison and Sarah Fitzpatrick. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Cormier) Dumais in 1985. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St, Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in his memory to a charity of ones choice.
