BANGOR – Agnes E. Nichols, 90, died Dec. 29, 2007, at Sisters of the Heart Home, Hampden. She was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Buckfield, the daughter of Leslie and Emma Curtis. She was a member of Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Bangor, for many years. She was a homemaker, enjoyed baking and taking care of her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Kareem John Nichols; and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Nadine LeRoy and husband, Bob, of Corona, Calif., and Valerie Jane Newell and husband, Dave, of Monroe; a brother, Harold Curtis and his wife, Pauline, of Glenburn; four grandchildren, Bonnie Trupiano, Holly LeRoy, both of Corona, Calif., John “Jack” Berry of Jackson, and Nicholas Newell of Bangor; four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Penobscot Christian School, 1423 Ohio St., Bangor, with the Rev. Carl Bergman, pastor of Christian Reform Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Penobscot Christian School, 1423 Ohio St., Bangor.
