EXETER – Althea S. Libby, 65, died Jan. 1, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 14, 1942, in Bangor, the daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth (Wilbur) Bragg. Althea loved cooking, sewing and working in her flower gardens. She was a proud 34-year member and past president of Brewer Eagles Club No. 3177 Auxiliary. Althea was everyone’s mother and grand-mother, and loved her family dearly. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lloyd B. Libby Sr. of Exeter; three children, Lloyd B. Libby Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Eddington, Sharon and her husband, Eric Kettell, of Bucksport, Edward Libby Sr. and his wife, Mary, of Exeter; four brothers, Bruce Bragg and his friend, Pat, of Tyler, Texas, Jeff Bragg of Bradley, George Bragg and his wife, Debbie, of Bangor, Dale Bragg and his wife, Allison, of Bradley; four sisters, Mildred and her husband, Donald Hanson, of Exeter, Judy Smith of Exeter, Kathy and her husband, Ron Logan, of Eddington, Patty and her husband, Cully Rugan, of Exeter; 18 grandchildren, Nicole, Amanda and her husband, Casey, Douglas and his friend, Jess, Edward, Kayla, Holly, Tarik, Seth, Chris and his wife, Angel, Amanda and her husband, Jeremy, David, Trevor, Teddi, Casey; and five great-grand-children, Justyn, Libby, Doug, Makenzie and Jacob. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Dwight Bragg; and her brother-in-law, Bobby Smith. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, with the Rev. Charles Hurst, pastor of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church, officiating. Memorial services will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, by officers and members of the Brewer Eagles Club Auxiliary. Spring interment will be at Exeter Center Yard Cemetery. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service Friday at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
