FARMINGDALE – Agnes W. Russell, 76, of Maple Street, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, Graybirch Drive, Augusta. She was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Millinocket, the daughter of William and Cecilia (Boutaugh) Wall. She attended schools in Millinocket before moving to Augusta in 1945. She was further educated at Cony High School and was trained at Central Beauty School. Agnes owned and operated her own beauty salons in East Winthrop and later in Farmingdale. She married Donald Russell on Dec. 31, 1949. She enjoyed playing bridge and was the Director of the Thursday afternoon bridge at the Cohen Community Center in Hallowell. Agnes also liked gardening, golf, reading and doing crossword puzzles, but especially enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends. She was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church, Augusta. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 52 years, Donald C. Russell in 2003; and a brother, William A. Wall Jr. She is survived by a son, Edward W. Russell and his companion, Joni Jones, of Farmingdale; two sisters, Nancy Cormier and her husband, Carl, of Augusta, Judith Souder and her husband, Clyde, of Winterport; a brother-in-law, Revel Russell and his wife, Jean, of Levittown, Pa.; sister-in-law, Alberta Russell of Somerville, Mass.; two grandsons, Jonathan Russell of Winthrop and Christopher Russell of Augusta; several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no visiting at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial to follow in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
