NEW SWEDEN – Alaine L. Bernier, 66, passed away Aug. 5, 2008, while surrounded by her family, at her residence. She was born Sept. 5, 1941, in Laconia, N.H., the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Nelson) Johnson. Alaine worked for many years as a dental assistant and in her spare time, enjoyed traveling in her motor home, snowmobiling and riding ATV’s with her husband, Raymond; and her dog, Chi Chi. She was a member of Perkins/Plourde American Legion Post No. 136 Ladies Auxiliary for 35 years. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Bernier Sr. of New Sweden; and five children; son, Brian Voisine and his wife, Anja, of New Sweden; daughter, Lori Plourde of Bangor; daughter, Sandra Plourde and her husband, Bill, of Laconia, N.H.; son, Raymond Bernier Jr. and his wife, Heidi, of Waterville; and daughter, Karen Buckland and her husband, Chuck, of Medina, Ohio. She is also survived by a sister, Adella Johnson of New Sweden; 10 grandchildren, two great-grand-children, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. after the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou.
