BELFAST – Alana W. Norton, 56, went to be with the Lord after a long illness on Sunday, April 4, 2004, with her family at her bedside. She was born Sept. 29, 1947, in Harrington, and raised in Jonesport. Alana worked at OW&BS Look Lobster Co. in Jonesport. She loved her family, the Lord and children. She worked at Headstart in Belfast as a driver and teacher’s aide, and then at the Faith Temple Christian Academy in Belfast. She was a member of the Faith Temple Church of God in Belfast. Alana enjoyed sending cards to family and friends and crocheting afghans for many babies born to church families. She was predeceased by her father, Allan White, who died in 1985. Alana is survived by her mother, Eileen (Alley) White of Belfast; her husband of 35 years, George Norton of Belfast; a daughter, Stephanie Norton of Belfast; a sister, Marilyn White Kelsey of Kittery; a goddaughter, Kelsey Marie Weaver; a special friend and classmate, Bertha Raymond of Winslow; and many other special friends; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Faith Temple Church of God, Lincolnville Avenue, Belfast. Interment will take place in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport. Those wishing to make memorial donations may do so to either the Faith Temple Church of God or the Waldo County General Hospital, Hospice Unit, 117 Northport Ave., Belfast.
