GLENBURN – Albert Charles Belanger Sr., 72, died unexpectedly Feb. 24, 2006, at his home. He was born March 17, 1933, in Milford, the son of Maurice Joseph and Idella M. (Sharp) Belanger. Albert served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a senior air policeman stationed in Nebraska. He worked hard as a local builder for about 40 years in the Bangor area, where he built many homes throughout his life. For the last few years he worked for JRG Properties of Bangor. All his life he enjoyed taking care of his many loyal customers. His favorite place to be was hanging out at TBA Inc. where he helped doing deliveries and other projects. The employed always used to call him Grand Dad, which always brought a BIG smile to his face. He will be greatly missed by everyone there. Furthermore he will also be missed by Pete Cookson and family who were friends and neighbors for more than 20 years. Another close friend and neighbor was Eileen Ward, the director of St. Andre’s Group Home, where again he would take on many projects and tasks for his pleasure of helping others. He had an easygoing nature and was a kind and gentle person. More than anything Albert devoted his life to his family and friends and was a loving husband. Even after 52 years of marriage it was not uncommon to see the loving couple holding hands as they walked along the field located out back of their home. The relationship they had was the meaning of true love. Sharon the daughter-in-law of Albert also had a very special relationship. Since Sylvia would give Albert a hard time about how he ate, Sharon would sneak over and fill his candy dish located in the living room. Sharon was very close to her father-in-law and when something needed to be fixed she would ask her husband and he would reply, “Call Dad.” Sharon could always depend on her father-in-law for help, whether it was fixing things around the house or being there by her side for emotional support when times were difficult. Moreover he was a very special father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and father-in-law and will be dearly missed. “Dad, thank you for being the father and friend you are. I know I was not the easiest child to raise. I gave you many sleepless nights but the patience and discipline and the life’s experience you gave me made me the man I am today. I love you Dad. I will miss you always” – Love Al Jr. “You were a great father and grandparent and you’ve always been there for us when we needed you. We loved the stories you told at Thanksgiving time and the times we spent with you were times that we will never forget. We will forever have you in our hearts. Love you always” – Christine and the grandchildren. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sylvia (Anderson) Belanger; a son and best friend, Albert C. Belanger Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Glenburn; a daughter, Christine Brown of Levant; sisters, Cora Simon and husband, Gene, of Old Town, Ruthann Belanger of Auburn, Helen Vivona of St. Paul, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Richard, Colby, Denice and Angela Brown, Sean Belanger, Todd and Tonia Berlucchi; great-grandchildren, Sean Jr., Arianna, Anastasia, Calista, Natasha, Alyssa, Brittany and Maci and many friends.
