BANGOR – Albert Irven Philbrick, 93, husband of 67 years to Frances (Crowder) Philbrick, who predeceased him in 2003, died April 17, 2006, at a local healthcare center. He was born March 20, 1913, in Bangor, son of Herbert Irven and Hattie M. (Doughty) Philbrick. Albert attended Bangor schools and was employed by Eastern Fine Paper and Great Northern Paper Co. as an electrician, retiring in 1978. Albert built his own home and cottage single handedly. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on his home and cottage in his retirement. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Bangor, the Kenduskeag Lodge No. 137 AF & AM of Kenduskeag, the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32nd Degree, Anah Shriners and was a member of the Anah Shrine Acadamecians, Bangor-Brewer Shrine Club, the Saturday Nighters and Veazie Salmon Club. Surviving are two daughters, Judith Morgan and her husband, Frank, of Brewer, Bonnie Allen and her husband, Arthur PhD., of Glenburn; two grandchildren, John Morgan of Brookline, N.H. and James Morgan of Bangor; four great-grandchildren, Brian, Kelly, Glen and Michael; two sisters, Edna Laing and her husband, Ed DDS of Augusta and Doris Barnes of Jamestown, Pa.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Frances; and brothers, Lewis and Linwood Philbrick. A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor with the Rev. Elizabeth O’Donnell, deacon of St. John’s Episcopal Church officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home 10:30 until time of service Friday. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites family and friends to share conversations and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor after the service Friday.
