ORLAND and PENOBSCOT-Albert L. Lord, 79, died June 12, 2005, at Penobscot. He was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Bucksport, the son of Ralph H. and Mattie S. (Soper) Lord. He grew up in Bucksport and attended Bucksport High School. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge No. 71 AF & AM, Orland. An avid fly fisherman and hunter, he loved going to hunting camp in Deblois with “the crew” for forty years. He enjoyed his home on Toddy Pond, horse racing and farming. He ran a poultry farm on the Back Ridge Road for many years and was a member of the Labor Union for fifteen years. He later enjoyed his retirement years. Albert was predeceased by his wife, Dora (Pickering) Lord, June 12, 1982. He is survived by daughter, Diane H. Johnson of Penobscot; son, Richard T. Lord and his wife, Marnie, of East Orland; grandchildren, Bradford L. Newbegin of Castine, Molly A. Lord of East Orland, Mattie L. Lord of East Orland; great-granddaughter, Brianne Sage Leeman-Newbegin of Castine; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; many friends and neighbors. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by three brothers, Roderick Lord, Darrell Lord, Matson Lord. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2005, at the Back Ridge Cemetery, Orland, with Pastor Peter Remick, officiating.
