EAGLE LAKE – Albert L’Italien, 80, died suddenly Dec. 16, 2003, at his residence. He was born in St. Helene, P.Q., Canada, Dec. 22, 1922, the son of Andre and Adele (Ouellette) L’Italien. For most of his life, Albert was a cook in lumber camps until his retirement in 1983 and was also a member of the C.O.F. in Eagle Lake. Albert was always ready to welcome guests and make them feel entertained with his stories, humor and meals. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jeanne (Berube) L’Italien of Eagle Lake; five sons, Larry and his wife, Ginny, of Eagle Lake, Norman and his wife, Theresa, of St. John, Allen and his wife, Russette, of Hampden, Rodney of Eagle Lake, Danny and his wife, Amanda, of Eagle Lake; one daughter, Lucy and her husband, David Maldanado, of Security, Colo. He was very happy spending time with his 12 grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, Jennifer, Mariah, Micah, Arien, Dakota, David, Christopher, Schandra, Ryan and Brandon; two great-grandchildren, Magen-Dawn and Dakota; five brothers, Elaine of Jonquiere, P.Q., Rosaire of Temiscounta, P.Q., Rene of Val D’or, P.Q., Charles of Beauport, P.Q. and Maurice of Montreal, P.Q.; five sisters, Victoria L’Italien of Montreal, P.Q., Marie-Anna Theriault of Lachenaie, P.Q., Therese Thompson of Presque Isle, Eva Drouin of Laval, P.Q., Adrienne Lavoie of Anteuil, P.Q., many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent, 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 12 noon Friday until time of departure for Eagle Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bill Labbe officiating. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery, May 21, 2003. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the charity of their choice.
